    Battery, cranking power.

ok lets say your the ultimate car enthusiast and money is no object.

What make a battery worth having? is it the weight compareed to cranking power ratio?

What battery would you have if it was free?

Was going to mention this myself. I wonder what battery Andy Cooke runs with.

A lot of the Jap guys go with the slimline batteries. Not sure if they weight any less, I'm assuming they must do. We all know a 1-2kg weight saving is gold dust to Andy for example.

    Re: Battery, cranking power.

The last one i brought cost £27 - 3year warranty type 063. Normaly the higher CCA the more it is going to weigh. Also i find that the 'better'(if you can say that) quality ones will also weigh more. I wouldnt say any battery is going to be better than another one. We change stocks most years just to be compet on prices. I would say go for what you no and like as a make. Normaly people will say the more known makes are better. However just because they are known dont make them better. I no for a fact that ECP's own "lion" brand they sold last year was made by "bosh" and they sold them with a lifetime guarantee of the car. Then sold the bosh with a 3year warranty for alot more.... They sold more bosh ones.. just because they said bosh on them.. I always kill my battery before its out of warranty =] soz about the essay ^^

I think andy's battery was very small, only cabable of running the ECU and bare essentials. I think he started the car from a seperate supply. Nor did he run an alternator, heavy things those!
