was just sitting at the lights minding my own buisness when a red mint nova sr pulls up behind me (intercooler slightly hidden behind the bumper? and when you see that on a nova you just know it has the 2.0 turbo from the calibra.... what r they 220bhp!? wasnt gonna go4 it at 1st, but then when he took the outside lane and hammered it i had2 go 4 it. new it was sudden death and yes he canned me after 60mph

obviously we never broke any speed limits and it was a safe straight dual track

thats it now..... passenger seat, carpet, dash! its all comin out!!!!! sod the respray i need more bhp.

couldnt tell u bout the rims... mat black bumpers, shell was completley standard with all original nova sr 1.4 stickers. yeah it was stripped with buckets. this took place in kidderminster though.

even the standard 1.6 gte's were tidy little motors nice and quick for the age of the car, my brother had one when i got my first 5, exhaust and filter and just your standard "performance" plugs etc and kept up with the 5 pretty well! any bigger engine in these cars makes them nice and quick but in all the 2.0 ltr's i went in handled like a dog compared to the 1.6's

yeah it was all straight rd!!!! never come up against him on the bends....
that much power in a little nova is going to be fast.

sayin that! goin back a couple of yrs ago when novas where everywhere, everytime i seen car stuffed in2 a wall or sittin in a hedge or upside down on a island it was a nova!!!!

well the nova turbos are damn quick little motors but with a well setup 5 running some sensible boost your gonna stick with him on the straights in alot of cases up and over a ton is the only time they are gonna see you in there mirros

I hate nova turbos.The only car id have with that engine in is a mk3 astra gsi or opel manta.Gsi's are ok to drive but look naff in my opinion.Vauxhalls have good torque and with a 6speed box in a nova and a slightly mapped motor it will be a giant killer.

I had a Nova with the 16v and a few tweeks in it about 17 years ago. It was a seriously fast car. Much faster at the top end than any 5 I've owned. Very reliable too.

It did not go around corners though. Great if your into straight line drag, but lethal on a wet B road. You just couldn't trust it.

I helped a mate build one (that was later mag featured) with a Calibra turbo engine in it. That thing was insane, way faster in a straight line than the tweaked Escort Cossie he also had at the time.

I have fond memories of utterly destroying a spit new M3 at the time on the Loch Lomond to Glasgow road one Friday night/Saturday morning. Needless to say, it's a fairly straight road with just a few roundabouts on it.

thats as high as i can get with my in-car..... dunno if the actuators shot and i need a t3 or like the wizard said i need hav a mess with the diameter of some of my in-car boost pipework. ent had 2much time 2 piss about with it yet. believe me i want2 turn it up till atleast 18

With all the in car boost controller , why dont you take all that off for now and get fueling set for a max boost by adjusting autuator and tuning/tweaking carb to suit max boost.

Then just drive your car to suit and no need to tinker with boost setting.

or get another spare carb and have one set for low boost 12psi and have one set for say 18psi like you say you want !

Then just mark your actuator to show were it should be for 12psi and were it should be with 18psi. if you want to change boost you need to change carb hence buying a new one.

Or set carb/fueling for 18psi and have it running abit rich when you turn boost down. which "I WOULD NOT DO OR ADVISE" different boost setting different carb setting

Hmm, in the video it says look at the speedo... That would probably indicate wheel spin. I can't beleive the guy tries to drive it on a two post lift at the beginning, what an idiot. And by the looks of that rolling road, I wouldn't be taking any of its figures seriously.
