    Project Holey... F7R & ITBs

I have been holding off starting a project thread until it started moving, I have just been collecting and cleaning the parts i needed over the past few months. Its a continuation from my old white 5 thread https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=720

The orange shell used to be a EP Motorsport drag car and ran a 12.9 at the pod and seems to be well know across the internet. The shell was bought from ian at EP by the last owner & was used to reshell a Ph1 Rally car fitted with a 1000cc to compete in Formula 1000 events. It competed in 2 events and was put up for sale on ebay

I already had a Williams engine and all the conversion bits that i was going to put in my White 5... So after some cleaning and painting it should be just a case of bolting it all together... famous last words lol

Another twist to the project after a 12 hour round trip to bristol.... Alpha Weber ITB's from an ex K-tec demo car... I got them for a good price.. and I was praying no one beat me to the deal lol

    Car ready for the conversion

First job was to fit Lighterned and balanced flywheel, Clutch and Gearbox... I had tryed fitting the flywheel on saturday but one of the bolts sheered off (I won't be using the impact gun in future to torque them up lol).. I managed to get it out and all went together as planned today... sorry no pics

Second Job was to bolt the gearbox to the engine and mount them both on the subframe with uprated GT Turbo mounts.. I also fitted both manifolds

Third job was to fit the Renault cambelt kit

Just need to get a few mates around and lift the car onto the subframe... then i can really start getting stuck in.

Just going to see how it runs on the map thats on the ECU..... Then either remap at an alpha dealer or go for something a little more user friendly ECU wise

Ideally I need cams and headwork before i get it mapped... see what bargains come up

I really think you should ditch the alpha and go with another ECU thats going to benifit you later in time to come... looking good starting to make progress now...

Its going to be very busy N/S and empty on the O/S in the engine bay

I know the alpha ECU sucks but no harm in trying it till something better comes along

I see along the back of the engine bay has been cut out and removed. Might do that to mine
What did you do? just disc cut it out?
What strut brace you using to support the metal removed?

    Good work

Drilled some holes in the front bumper to aid the air flow to the rad and to match the holes on the inside

Got the windows cut to shape yesterday and fitted them today
