I cant wait to get it out and about. Am wanting to go for a standard raider look on the outside, bar the ronals. A standard interior and a 200bhp engine with ALL the goodies, chromed silicon hoses etc.

Totally unsuitable for track/spirited country road driving.

I thought my T28 was great, granted it some time to get used to the spool up time but that was because i'd only had the OE T2 or a T25 on my previous fives. I felt the T28 had the best of both worlds, always on vacuum cruising at 70mph so half decent mpg but drop down a gear and she'd be on boost like no tomorrow and the surge on full boost would quite literally drag the car into treble figures very quickly. You could even leave it in say 4th and the spool up would be immense.

A T28 with a decent intercooling is IMO a nice turbo for trackdays, ok not so much the technical tracks like Rockingham where you're braking on 90 degree bends and not enough straights between bends but Nurburgring or Donington Park where you can really open it up most if the time.

you looked for a month for a raider interior with no results. - so you go out and buy one. its a simple case of supply and demand.

you will find that alot of people on this site, will lambast you for spending that amount of money on an interior, that they could have sold you for half the price...however, if you came on here asking for a raider interior i reckon there would have been a 95% chance that no one would have had one for sale. - the only reason it is now, is due to the wonga you've just spent on it.

as for the t28, fit it and enjoy it. it will require you to change your driving style to get the best from it, but for ultimate power thats what you need to do. the smaller t25 type turbos are good for back lanes and twisty roads, it depends on what type of driving you do.

Good to see some positive feedback, better than just telling this guy how 'stupid' he was and how he got ripped off sooo bad. He did what he did, now he could do with some advice and support from the forum. Im sure next time he might ask, but whats done is done.

I wish I had the money to buy what I wanted when I wanted. You are very fortunate in todays economical climate so enjoy it as much as you can!

    Do you know what,

I was going through some off my 1st few post of the old rtoc... to say i felt small was an understatement.

I thought BBPT/K-Tec & CGB where god like, i spent a f*cking fortune of bling and crap that wernt needed, I thought a Tarmac bodykit was a Dimma Body kit etc etc

A serious lesson has been learnt by myself & i am sure 90% of the members on here will agree they have also learnt & hopefully saved lots of £'s.

Tuner's/breakers are out there to make money, members are out there to be helpfull & to make friends (in most case's).

R5GTTDrew - I hope your seats are mint i really do, i personally wouldnt pay that kind of money but hey ho.... i most likely would of done back in the old days tho.

As for the Turbo I have a T28 with a pace frount mount, to say its good on the road is anderstatement but as Ricardo said does take a while to boost up but once its there its all good - Think it would suit a 285 cam or something like that tho.

Next time you want to buy X why not start a topic about X, answer the questions asked & i am sure you will get all the usefull help you need.

That T28 and a proper T25 won't have much difference in spool up, as they both use the same trim wheel and exhaust housing.

That price is a tad extravagant for a second hand turbo aswell. With all new parts and a new -31 I could do one for £650, although i'd need an old T2 as an exchange.

    Re: CGB Motorsport......AMAZIN!

I spoke with the guy at CGB today on the emails and av managed to slice the order to one peice, I am only buying the interior.

I have decided to just fire out the same email to

    BBtuning
    K-tec
    GTTuning

asking them all if they can give me a price on a complete rebuild and a BHP figure of 200bhp (proven), but to also have all the engine bay bling bling chromed and to have polished alloy tanks, also silicone hoses etc.

I am going for a look of standard Raider interior and exterior, apart from the ronal turbos and it being lowered. And then the engine bay to be the big thing, something like the one on the GTTuning website.

Drew, Drop a PM to TheMaster regarding your engine build... https://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.php?u=8

He does top work and will get you a more gen 200bhp than most tuners...

Also theres nothing special with 200bhp, both my 5's run 170-180bhp and both make me smile on road & track..

My latest 5 will only have 130-150bhp but will be a lethal track toy

I dont no why I have 200bhp in mind just did. If TheMaster wants to build me an engine by al means he can and ad rather give the money to someone on here than the tuning companys.

I was thinkin about puttin a full essex raceing bodykit on it and a set of 14 inch TSW venoms, and if am lucky go for a set of viper stripes..............................

Yeh the bodywork will be kept standard Raider spec, it will be the engine bay that will get the big changes. I might even buy a set of speedlines and and get them to the Raider colour and have them aswell as the ronal turbos.

Ive also got to big up CGB...with my clio conversion ive been on the fone to bob countless of times.. postage is spot on ..usually next day.

He's also saved me a lot of money ...giving me advice...allthought ive only ever got wee daft things like gaskets and stuff as renault is terrible for getting 5gtt parts .

Also when my car didnt get a spark i was on the phone to order a new TDC sensor him and his mechanic sat and told me all possible ways of testing it before i wasted my cash on a new one.

    A thumbs up from me

I can't fault Bob to be honest; any time Ive ever needed something for the 5's and in a hurry He's got back to me straight away either by phone or email - whatever Ive got off him was as described; price wise....mmmmmm...... fair enough -- little bit steep.
