    Sorry Spooky

Well today has been a good & **** day for Spooky.

Today is the day that Spooky came to collect the white 5 and to take ownership of it again.

I suprised him by picking him up from the train station, the minute he saw the car his face lit up like a fat kid in a chocolate factory.

Drove the car home, did the paperwork & monies etc....

Spooly went on his merry way.. happy days all round.

Within 5 mins i had a phone call from spooky, i was expecting "car is great " but he said i have a massive fuel leak, i am at the petrol station and its just p*ssing out fuel.

I got to the Petrol station, towed him back to my place. I feel sorry for spooky as i am not one whom gets his hand dirty and i am not very mechanically minded.

We got the car up on Axle stand's, the fuel leak is leaking from the fuel sender, I had already replace the seal around the fuel sender and Ricardo had said it leaked from there.. but now it appears that the car pressures the fuel tank and force's the fuel out around the fuel sender... most be blockage somewhere.

Spooky has gone home now in my dad's spare car & him and Krisy M are coming down on saturday to try and fix the car.

Anyway just wanted to say sorry to Spooky for wasting his time & that i hope he gets it fixed asap as i know he loves the car dearly.

    A few pics...

    Yea, what a day lol

Thanks for the lend of the car, really appreciate that!

I was not prepared to drive it home as it was and Chris knew that, ill be back down at the weekend to fix it!

Going by my chat with Col Cook, the best way to see what's what is to get the tank off and investigate!

    Peace out!

    Easy job checking the breathers.

Did station fuel pumps constantly click when filling it up perchance?

what is that? im assuming the pumps are designed to do that at a certain point? them clicks really miff me off when im filling the merc up. only seems to do it when the tank is 3/4 full onwards.

    Re: Sorry Spooky

Well, they're only supposed to click when the tank is full.

One of my old 5's did it ALL the time... when I eventually got round to replacing the Aux tank strap (used to hang slightly) I cleaned the breather pipes out and all was just swell.

Well today Spooky & Krisy M popped down, got the tank of, re fitted the fuel sender seal, cleared all breather pipes, re-fitted the tank... re fueled & jobs a good un as they say.

They finally left at 5:30pm, spooky is going to be late home for a family meal, but he has his 5 back so he is a happy bunny.

Duncs also popped in, dropped of some Cup wheel & tyres for me, so thats 3 sets of cups wheels i now own.

I started to refurb my spare cup wheels today, Cleaned, rust removed/treated & sanded down & ready for primer & paint on monday.

Took the cup out for a cheeky drive on a private road, sounds fantastic.

Overall a busy day working on the 5's.
