    Hey all,

I've got to prep my front bumper and wheel arch for spraying and i was wondering if i could get a bit of advice as this is the first time i have done it.

i.e what sandpaper, how long, how much and just a few tips and hints.

    Regards

If your painting over the old paint just use something around a 1200 w&d to remove any imperfections. Then get some good light coats of paint on. Try not hold the can/gun too close to avoid runs & keep away from any areas where dust/leaves etc will blow onto your work. Most of the hard work is in the lacquering. Bite the bullet and you will be fine if you take time.

Where abouts could i find out what colour code my car is, because i might buy the paint before hand in litres. I wouldn't spray the car myself, best to let someone do it who can.

Im after maybe a colour code booklet or something.

Let the painter get the code, Im sure the campus didnt come in that shade of white?
Plus he will have suppliers who will get it cheaper than you could.
And if all goes wrong the buck stops with him.

If its a standard colour, it'll be stamped on the VIN plate... the bodyshop will be able to sort out the correct colour from the code.
