hey! just wondering if any of you on here have any pics up of a valver bonnet scoop on your gtt?

if so how did you do yours?

You can buy fibre glass bonnets. And a mate had a cool louvers one on his Nova a few years ago.

if you are not bothered about weight then actually you'll do better buying an old f/glass 16v bonnet and cutting the hump out, cutting a hole in a steel bonnet and glassing it on. the fit of the prima bonnets is pretty bad, they like to warp and so on. mine has been painted probably 5 or 6 times, every year or 2 and each time I spend hours blocking it flat and leveling it up. finally it isn't too bad, still not as staight as a steel bonnet.

and (scoff) you rekon its best to buy a valver bonnet chop it.. chop the gtt bonnet and do it that way?
i aint feeling to paint my bonnet that many times when i get one :/

ahh, you used of the word "sound" see !

if you are after a bonnet that fits right and doesn't ripple and warp in the sun then graft the hump into a steel bonnet. I'm a bit more fussy about the weight of my car.

umm, prima tarmac I think. Its been on a long time, not what I'd choose these days but it's really light, just how I like panels to be

Yeh i think it looks like you have a smoothed Tarmac bumper, i have 1 in the garage if you ever need a replacement.

ah yes I did chop it about a bit, I moved the number plate recess down initially, then recently cut a whole section out to improve cooling. It all looks a bit silly but it works pretty well (helps keep it cool) along with the daft looking mesh in the bonnet.
