    water pump issues

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

basically i cannot seem to be abole to get any coolant to pump around the system at all, i have found a nice hole in the radiator also. the pulley is moving freely and i have had the bleed valves open but still nothing, i have managed to get about 4 liters into the system so far but getting full now i think. can i have got the piping the wrong way and could this cause to loose all pressure or is it going to be a new punp and radiator?

Get the engine running and open the bleed valves. Fill the header tank full of coolant and blow into the tank - this will force the coolant into the radiator and around the system and should sort the problem.

i have had to pour water direct into the radiator and into the water pump whe it was running just to try and get the engine temp back down as it was heating up very quickly but still didn't work. will try blowing in the header tank though

Just hold the header tank as hi as you can and open the bleed nipples, that will fill the water system up.

Don't bleed it with the engine running and the bleed nipples open as it'll suck air in rather then bleed it out.

Possibly. I has an assistant screw the bleed nipples back in as I was blowing into the tank.

Just keep filling the header tank and blowing into it, the coolant will find its way eventually

Leave the nipples out till water pours out of them and them screw the nipples back it, then lower the header tank back to its original position.

Go to GSF or Euro car parts to get a rad, alot cheaper there mate. Don't get a copper core one, go for a standard one as there alot better.

GSF? had seen the copper ones but didn't fancy one anyway, will the standard ones still come with the oil cooler built in?

you could go for one of them asi alloy rads for around the same price as a std rad, they dont have the built-in oil cooler like the std rads do.

ill be suprised if ASI wont except a lower price offer ASI rad

theres also another seller selling the same type of rad here

and another rad i found here
