    TDC adjustment angle

When adjusting the tdc pickup along its mount, does anyone know the degrees of adjustment that can be obtained?

I seem to have 8 degrees in my mind but im unsure.

i.e -8 or +8 from baseline AEI ignition settings

    thanks

    Re: TDC adjustment angle

I thought it was more like 4 either way, i.e. 8 in total?

    Edit: aha, I'm correct

    Excellent! thank you.

I know that by swapping the wires around gave the 4deg so thought that being able to move the pickup would give greater values. I guess not.

Ah, no, good point. If you also swap the wires does that add even more? I don't know. You'd think so.

    Re: TDC adjustment angle

Quite possibly - that would make sense though.

I am not using the original tdc anyway. This info is purely for me to write a (very) safe ignition map suitable for my setup.

I have nodiz mappable ignition installed, currently it has the standard renix ignition map loaded on but since running a vnt I wish to retard some of the timing.

You could install a adjustable distributor. You take an old Renault 4 distributor and empty it's content.

That's an interesting mod. I don't think I have seen anything like that before.

But I have no need for a distributor, and have removed the factory one from my engine. In its place I have a trigger wheel and a Ford wasted spark setup.

I was just looking to use the standard ignition map but replicate a fully adjusted tdc pickup with plenty retard

    Re: TDC adjustment angle

That sounds interesting. I assume it is for a Gt Turbo Cleon Engine?

I had to make an ignition curve for my Renault Rodeo once, with a GT Turbo engine. I used a programmable ignition. I was not able to find the exact numbers of the standard Renix 209 on Google.

Don't we have those renix numbers/map somewhere on the site? Not sure where....

Hahaha, what a super cool thing. C1J install looks "mad scientist", brilliant.

I know nothing of the Rodeo. What was the engine that came out of it? And what impact on performance and character does the C1J have?

    Got it!

    https://www.rtoc.org/files/Technical%...ff/gtt-map.jpg

    Also:

Search the net for tunerpro rt, download and install it.

    Download the definition files here:
    http://www.fenixecu.com/telechargements/Tuner-Pro/

If you open them in tunerpro you'll be able to see the stock ve and ign tables.

    Re: TDC adjustment angle

Thank you very much for the map. I recognize the numbers at 3000 and 6000 rpm. Those were the only test data I had. I will compare the numbers with the curve of my own.

The Renault Rodeo has the chassis of the Renault 4. The suspension is of the van version (fourgonette). The original engine was of the Renault 6 with 47 HP. Now I drive with 120 HP and 200 NM at 3000 Rpm.
