New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Hi all. I'm after a performance cam and pulley, either a piper 285 or similar. Just rebuilding my engine. Thanks

Thanks. I've emailed him a week ago and still haven't heard back from him. I will try again.

If your in a hurry your better off using engine/dynamics.com and getting a catcam to similar spec as mike is going through a rough patch at the moment

Thanks, are the reprofiled one OK to use or are you best having the new blank ones.

What's the 285 alternative in catcams?

I tried the cam guide on here but my phone didn't seems to work with it.

    The ED spec?

    Are verniers overrated?

An adjustable pully is a must in my opinion Cam timing has a massive influence over the end result

True, but how many people in the real world actually change it after the initial set up?

How far out is the oe? I know for a fact once I set it up, I'll never have the interest in adjusting it, I'm far to lazy.. 😂

An aftermarket cam will always benefit from a verneir as you can never be sure if its been ground to the exact point as a standard one.
I have fitted a performance cam before and fitted the standard wheel and found it to be 4deg out, even if you have no intention of changing the cam timing at a later date its ideal to get it right when you fit it.
I would fit a vernier all the time just to be sure it is how it should be or how you want it

Before you buy a pulley measure the cam......... mine was 114 degress so I left it at that.
