    Audi S7 - Winter Protection

This is another executive 'super saloon' that come in from the Auto Finesse Authorised Detailer Network for some much needed protection.

I'll jump straight into this one.

    The car on arrival.

Wheels up first. I tried out a Sonax wheel cleaner which is pretty handy.

Agitated with a few different brushes and rinsed away.

The car was pre-soaked with Avalanche while all the tight spots were cleaned using Verso and Envy brushes.

No visible protection. There was a Life Shine sticker in the windscreen...

The car was washed using the 2 bucket method and Lather.
There was no tar spots surprisingly so the car was treated with Iron Out, rinsed and clayed.

The car was re-washed, rinsed and dried with the best towel around.

Then onto Rejuvenate to cleanse the paint work and prepare it for 2 layers of Spirit.

The gorgeous diamond stitched leather seats were cleaned off using Total, before being sealed up using Gyeon.

All of the carpet and matts were coated too.

Total was used to clean all surfaces on the dash and center console.

Before and after of the exhausts. Polished using Mercury.

The wheels were sealed using Mint Rims and tyres dressing using Tyre Creme'.
It rained as soon as I finished the interior But at least it shows the protection working.

The finished car... in the rain unfortunately.

And the trees that gave me a never ending battle against the leaves.

    Thanks for reading

    Any questions, fire away.

    Super cool

Seems like the pre-wash soaking of the various bits of the car with the different products is such a critical part of the process.

You say you clean the tight spots with Verso whilst the Avalanche is working but before the washing of the car with the buckets. Is this just a gentle application of Verso, or are you actually cleaning?

The more you can do before the contact wash - the better. Less friction and less dirt to move across the paint helps to reduce the level of swirling you can inflict during the wash process

While the pre-wash is softening and loosening the surface dirt, I go around things like grills, door rubbers, the scuttle panel, badges and things with my Verso mixed up at 1:10, spray it onto the area and gently work it with a detailing brush. You'd be surprised at what comes out of these areas.

I know, these are usually the dirtiest places on a car!
