what to do with my old engine-less 5

I recently bought my old 5 back that i owned in the 90s...problem is it has no engine...gearbox...driveshafts...bay is empty bar the loom...i was hoping to fit a complete
c1j engine and bring it back to its former glory...but after rejoining this club and nosing around
thats like a possible nightmare...getting together all the bits i'll need and the expense of the parts now...iv noticed there's a few conversions out there these days..whats your thoughts im guessing to go back to the oe engine route it would be cheaper/easier to get another 5 and swap all the parts over?

Depends what you want squire. I have one of each one converted and one standard. If it was me, I would go with a rebuild oe route. The car will be more desirable and worth more in the future.

Between here, eBay and gt turbo spares you will get everything you need. Have you seen our diaoligys parts lists under the 5 gt turbo section? Will help with some available parts from Renault.

C1J will be the easiest and cheapest way to go for sure. Engines do pop up quite regularly on here and eBay, I'm sure GT Turbo Spares and CGB will be able to supply you also

Get an engine & box in there, has to be a C1J as more original and will keep its value. Once you have them the rest will soon come together...

Keep an eye out whilst you are doing it as you never know when the right bits will show up .
