I'm pretty sure the EIX have superceded the EVX. I have them in mine and they're fine.

The BR8EIX are more expensive than the B8EVX, but they have been superceded over to that part number now as said

£7.19 inc vat. They are the Iridium plugs. 0.6mm tip. http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ngk-irid...rk-plug-br8eix

£7.19 inc VAT. Denso Iridium with the 0.4mm tip. http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/denso-ir...park-plug-iw24

Maybe as well use the Denso and get whatever advantage there is from the smaller tip?

    Re: Correct spark plugs

I had iridium (bought fro CGB) and they fail after about 200kms and they ware expensive... At first the car was starting to run on 3 cilinders, then the car didnt start. Been reading somewere that iridium is not good for carb engine as they get too rich in AFR sometimes...

    Re: Correct spark plugs

From what I've seen recently the Denso Iridium come with a wide spark gap. This could delay the ignition timing a bit (as the voltage has to build a bit more before (the gap can be jumped) ionisation can occur). But I found with B8EG that the fine tip seems to light the mixture more easily which could also mean the mixture is being lit a bit earlier, cancelling the effect of the wider gap.

The whole point seems to be the fine tip. Their contention seems to be that a higher energy density is achieved, and more precise ignition timing. Denso is finest at = 0.4mm.

    So your plugs became sooted?

I had fat electrode plugs soot up (in the 5GTT) when I fitted that Spitfire Multi spark. Ran well at higher revs, ie, not around town, but they sooted almost immediately at idle.

Ffs they can't do that. I'm buying what they advertise, not what they think i need. i won't be happy.
