GT turbo Crankshaft queries

Hello, My friend is thinking of purching a gt turbo, there is a slight knock from the engine under load. Isnt loud enough to be the big end shells and the crankshaft has already been ground the once. My queries are; 1. how far the standard crank can be ground to and an estimate on how much this will cost, 2. how much a usable used crankshaft will set us back. There is one on ebay for just under £200 pounds and i thought that was slightly steep, that being said i'm no expert.

I doubt you will be paying £200 for a crank if you look in the classifieds section on here, maybe place a wtb add? Maybe even get hold of a complete bottom end for £200.
