    More help!

Well I was expecting the engine to jump into life once j had everything connected, but no,
Trying to start engine but no good,
I've checked for spark - check
    Checked compression - check
At TDC the the alternator is pointing to plug 1
    Firing order 1243
Valve clearance has been adjusted to .20 ex and .15 in
I've taken the lobster off and looked to see fuel spraying, tbh can see fuel coming out tube but more of a uneven squirt than spray- is that right?
    Brand new TDC sensor
    Leads and dizzy

With lobster off, when I turn the engine over there are a few pops from carb, and sometimes flames

Have tried easy start down carb too

The distributor is now on the right way, as it wasn't !
Ordered champion plugs as have read that the nkg iridium are not the best to use.
I'm thinking about taking carb off and making sure that it's clean with no blockages

Which plug you calling number one on the engine and where does it connect to the dizzy cap?
Sounds like leads are on wrong or the dizzy is set wrong if its popping out the carb when cranking

    That's cool, sounds right mate.

Was cam timed up though when you fitted the dizzt gear? Even with the flywheel set on the tdc mark on the gear box the cam can be 180deg out, cam rotates twice for every rotation of the crank
Sorry if telling you to suck eggs, just thinking of things that could be wrong

Not that I want to admit it but when I was double checking things I set the fly wheel to TDC and looked at the drive gear which was 180 out do reset it, now I'm thinking it was right I screwed it up, that was before I started cranking engine!! Doh!!

    Re: More help!

Isnt it rotate the crank until no.7 valve is down and the flywheel mark should be lined up on the box then set the dizzy gear to where it should be...

When you say down, do you mean spring compressed or uncompressed?
