    Re: my r5 project!

yeah its going to be fun fitting all new bits and even funner trying them out! yeah I had to send back the nearside wishbone as it was about a inch longer (so be aware people when buying a LH wishbone from GSF).

The seat is quite comfy but would nt like to be in it for hours lol, Its set quite low down starting to fill like a right go kart 8)

    Parts Im fitting:

    Big brake conversion kit-greenstuff pads
    Rear brake kit-greenstuff pads
    Wishbones
    track rod ends
    strut bearings
poly doughnuts + anti roll bars bushes
    spax coilovers
    renault nuts and bolts
    etc..

gtt boy Im not sure what your on about regarding cutting things, are you saying I may have to cut the bolts off holding the wishbone on :?

Had a bit of a surpise today, I noticed my bumper hanging a bit so I just thought it would be just a loose bolt or something but I found this. The rest of the car is solid as far as im aware, all well I got it sorted dont think I would have been albe to sleep to nite if I didnt fix it straight away

How do the arches come off, Im going to go over the hole car once Ive done all the suspension and that.

    Re: my r5 project!

Right time for a update me thinks Ive taken out my old engine as it was starting to get a bit old and a pain to drive it had done 130.000  so its been a goodun, Ive got big plans for this new build and hoping for some good power figures Its going to include forged pistons, piper cams, bigger turbo etc etc anyways some picies of what Ive been upto.

Me and my old man manged to get the engine out by hand wasnt easy though as I left the crank pully on  Gave the bay a clean with the jet wash.

This is the new engine thats going in Its steves old one with forged pistons in and new liners in, Im going to be changing the bearings etc and checking the crank before she goes in. Also gave it a fresh lick of paint.

Pipercam 285 kit with pully etc.

    Fancy leads.

Ive cleaned the head and manifold and also painted a few bits, I think Im goin get the head skimed and I will also be lapping the valves.

My mate made me up some nice alu hose bungs.

Still lots of bits and bobs to get but hoping I will have it done for after christmas thats If I have any money left

Free trackday cover! What a bonus. I might have to give them a bell when I'm up for renewal.
You've done well with this mate, been following it on the other forum. Didn't notice the cage in there before.
