    Winter Projects

Since it's not the best weather to be out playing around with cars, what is everyone doing this winter to keep them busy/sane?

I've started playing with RC cars haha.
Just got my Renault 5 Turbo all set up to start racing next week.

And my main project at the moment... RC drifting! It's amazing fun

So what are you up to?

Cool! A pal of mine is well into his RC cars, he races them weekly all over the place. He brought one to ND with me last year. I carshed it

I'm not up to anything. I need to fit new rubber fuel lines to the car as they're perished. I need to buy and fit a new radiator also. I might swap the TCD leads over to advance to ignition timing ala cup style.

I keep looking at my remote control cars but too busy with the normal cars, I will get round to sorting it out, all rebuilt just need to sort out some controls for it. Then put together the other car and possible with the amount of water which is happening lately, see if I can get the speed boat working

Tell me about it! It'll probably only take a couple of hours to do what I want to do with the car and even that time is rushed!

Yep. Thats how I managed to spill oil all over my engine while doing an oil change! The wife was nagging at me out of the window as I had been "too long" outside. I turned around to tell her to shut up and took my eye off of what I was doing!

    Re: Winter Projects

Nice to know others are the same! I sometimes go insane when I look at how much free time others have!

When I used to have it myself I look back and think how much i wasted it doing nothing on the sofa
And indeed how little I appreciated it.

My only option now is to work through the night on my car. I literally can't fit it in at any other time, I crawl into bed at gone 2am then I'm up at 6.

Should have kept it in my pants!

Got a 1959 BSA C15 star which is halfway through a nut and bolt restore.

1 owner (my grandad) and 6000 miles from new. BSA parts are cheaper and more readily available than Renault 5 spares- the whole restore owes me less than £700 so far.
