    Re: upgrade cam

It depends on the cam but quite possibly the valve springs.

Hi Dafydd, welcome to the club.

Piper do a 270, 285 and 300 cam. The 285 you mentioned will give a lumpy idle but great gains mid range and upwards. The norm is running a 285 with a full T25 or T28 turbo.

If you go on the Renault 5 GT Turbo section or the technical discussion pages, then go down to the bottom right of the page and type some keywords in the search box. This topic has been done hundreds of different ways with many different results. Have a quick look and get back with any more questions dude.

Happy to help a chippy from a sparky (the brains of the trade hahaha)

    Re: upgrade cam

Never had an issue with lumpy idle with a 285 cam before

Power gains will all depend on how you set the cam up, spec of turbo, engine and also how you set the carb up
Poor set up will loose you a fair amount of power you could of gained

Sorry, I mean like a tractor compared to the standard cam. I stand corrected.
