    Increase linner size

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Right here goes, i been told i can change my linners for bigger ones with increasing space to fit and would have to change big end, iv nearly got all bit to convert to injection.
    1. would this increase bhp
    2. be reliable
    3. would i need bigger cam etc

78mm* liners will slot straight in. Probably best to source steel items, for durability/reliability, given the liner wall will be thinner. You'll of course need the 78mm pistons & headgasket (fire-ring wise) as well.

It'll naturally increase CC, and yep, a hotter cam than standard would probably be beneficial, although that also depends on which turbo you'll be running.

    * 76.6mm (aka 'grp A'), and 77mm are also available as a direct straight fit.

cheers, what turbo wud you suggest? within cost factors too. i was told 76.6 was best in terms of strain on engine.

The choice is endless. Is it going to be a 'fast road' car, dragstrip beast, track attack motor?

76.6mm would be the more durable, but for the cost vs gain, you'd be better off staying o.e (76mm), or all out with the 78mm spec.

it would rattle like a mofo if you did that, probably smoke too. you match the pistons to the liner, so 76mm piston in 76mm liner 76.6mm in 76.6mm and so on
