Hi Benji, if you weren't all the way down there in Bath you could have a look at my 480...........anyway some guesses from me:

    plug for.....

#1 - oil level/pressure or maybe idle control valve
    #2 - coolant temperature sensor
    #3 - knock sensor??
    #4 - see link below.....

    http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/foru...4393&start=300

I'm not 100% about all of the above, just having a go from memory as nowhere near my car at the moment. When I am back from work I can have a look if you're still stuck.

    Cheers

There's a wiring diagram in the b18ft boards but the second pic is the ecu temp sensor goes on the head. And the rest are test points.

Wicked Schwartz thanks mate. I do have the wiring diagrams in the back of the Haynes
Manual but I didn't want to have to split the loom up to find out which wire goes were

    Re: The plug identification game

1, yellow -oil level and oil temp (Volvo gauges), black ones - test points.
2, brown - coil earth, green/grey - electronic boost control.
    3, power to aux waterpump.
    4, ecu test points

All are not required for conversion, but get it running before you chop them out if you plan too.
