    Vacuum Hose Question

So I removed my dump valve earlier as I'm not a big fan. Blanked the main boost hose and for now blanked the end if the vacuum hose and tidied it up out the way however since doing that my boost gauge has lost its vacuum reading and now only reads positive pressure

Can anyone help or clarify where the take offs should be.

    Car is running cup mod

To read vacuum the pipe for your boost gauge needs to be connected somewhere below the throttle butterfly....usually the manifold somewhere.

It's strange as it was perfect before.

Fairly sure it's taken off the side of the carb direct to gauge

Thanks Dave, that's basically how it is bit with the vac hose to dump valve blanked off with a nut until I re plumb it without the vac feed.

Thats odd then, are you sure the gauge feed doesnt split off to the dump valve as well? Just make it a single pipe from carb (below butterfly) to gauge if its not already. It has to work then.

    Re: Vacuum Hose Question

So checked it and I have the following.

Top 2 pipes in carb elbow joined by way of a loop

Next take off from carb goes to boost controller in car.

Bottom take off Goes to AEI - Gauge - Dump valve (blanked)

    So it should run...

Bottom take-off >> T-Piece (Splitter) with one going to AEI and one to Gauge.

    Re: Vacuum Hose Question

Sorted, upon digging it seems the aftermarket boost gauge was tapped in off the oe gauge behind the clocks not from AEI.
Strange how it was reading vacuum prior to removing the dump valve

Now ran a new pipe in for aftermarket gauge taken from AEI feed. Fired up straight to a vacuum.

    Thanks for the helps gents
