    Back in a Renault

Well after blyton park and watching the gt turbos suffer in the heat Jamie took me out in his clio sport and I loved it, so I came straight back and picked one up ready for next years fun.
Needs a little work but overall its a tidy motor.

I've refurbished the cloudy headlights and welded the back box and fitted poly bush hangers.
Cleaned with 2 bucket method in order to obtain a clio sport membership for the year
She stands me in at around £900, the arse has fallen out of the clio sport market and it seems a great time to hunt for bargains.
Just needs the belts swapping and its all sorted.

Just like Renault 5 gt turbos, people always get the name wrong . A Clio Sport is a 1.2

It's a Clio RenaultSport, or is it a RenaultSport Clio? It's a nice looking one though. Love that colour.

They're deffo hero cars - I still love mine, and it hasn't broken for a few days now (If I ignore the misfire )!

You can keep that nasty cup spoiler

Engine will be coming out when I'm not looking for my lost golf ball or changing sh1tty nappies then off to code red for some work.

I've not driven it yet, the engine needs a dephaser and cambelt as its rattling but I doubt it will be anything like the cupra R in terms of pull or refinement and the brakes won't come close to the brembos but the quirky clios just seem more fun despite the fact they are not as good, its weird but I found the cupra R a little boring and too easy to drive fast.

Ds2500 on non grooved discs, will surprise you how well they work no a clio!
Whiteline rear anti roll bar, a few of my secret squirrel suspension mods, 15" wheels and you will be having a great time!

Just ask Oli Davies what he thought of mine on track at brands hatch.

Got it out eventually, its a very tight fit and it didn't want to budge. Could have done with a second pair of hands but its out.
Took the cambelt off and there is slight play in the dephaser, but I'm still not sure if that's the cause of the noise

Well the engine is back in and running. New cambelt kit, aux belt kit, dehaser pulley, waterpump and clutch.
Its noise has been sorted and appears to be running well apart from the crank pulley looks knackered which is a massive ball ache for a simple job.

Thanks to matt@codered for doing the work, proper helpful chap and knows his way around these motors and offers fantastic rates.

Fingers crossed it will be on the road within a few weeks.

Thanks to nugget for helping to fit it with me till 10.40pm last night.
