Bonnie has a new owner, RTOC member too

Well that didn't take long,, the buyer has asked me not to say lol,,, but he says she will be at the pod in July and hopefully giving reason to change the 12 sec sticker to one lower lol...

But you know what I'm pleased about and that is she was brought by a member of long standing that knows the car from gone by and wants to keep her together

Thanks erm you know who you are

A little part of my history will left me next week but pleased a genuine 5 turbo lover will take over as the third owner

    Good luck

Well was going to keep it quiet but few people know already, yep I bought Bonnie!

Put deposit down on here and collecting her on Monday

My plan is to get her mapped, tidy few bits up then get it to the pod to see what it can do. I know Nicks itching to see what all his hard work will do

I intend to keep the car too so later in the year i'll be checking over the whole shell to make sure its all ok and then give the car my own little twist but it'll still be recognisable as Bonnie

This past month I've got it back, maybe little too much!

I have done a fair bit on the red 5 and the phase 1 recently, now another to play with
Plan is to get phase 1 done and sold and get Bonnie road legal, then maybe get both Bonnie and the red 5 mapped together

Priority is to fully service it, MOT and then run it for little bit before it goes for full map. See what it does in its present spec then change few bits if needs be, I personally can see it needing bigger injectors and maybe swap the chargecooler out for a front mount

Re: Bonnie has a new owner, RTOC member too

Well she fired up today after being off road for 5yrs, wasn't as easy as fitting battery and putting new duel in it though

Firstly found out the Clifford virtual key had packed up so had to take that out
Next I found all the rubber fuel hoses in the engine bay has cracked and were pissing fuel everywhere so they got replaced
Next I saw the exhaust temp sensor had shorted and burnt out so that had to be disconnected

Once sort those parts, gave it oil change, checked water and levels then it fired into life.

Re: Bonnie has a new owner, RTOC member too

Well I've had Bonnie for a while now and she's had abit of work done to her to get her up to the state i'm happy with

Sitting around for few years hasn't done her any good, fuel lines needing changing and while I was at it have decided to change the entire fuel system
Its now got a surge tank in the back with new fuel lines and a much larger pump to supply the engine

Interior wixse I've sorted a new carpet for her and removed a hell of a lot of wiring which was laying in there, Nick you did have a fair few things fitted to her didn't you!

Engine wise she's all sweet apart from the map being looked at
I have decided to remove the chargecooler and intercooler set up and replacing it with a new front mount, waiting for those bits to arrive so hopefully they'll be here soon

Shame I've not been able to get her sorted quicker but plan is for Sat night special at Pod to stretch her legs

Hi all.. nick here yes i know again lol.. Bonnies original owner..

i was very sad to hear that she's been stripped for her engine and spares.. TBH i only sold her cos she was going to be upsetting people with her power again one day.... if i had found out sooner i'd tried to buy her back... i currently own a Smart roadster bluewave brabus (rare as f**k) and a BMW e93 335i twin turbo model which is running a Cobb mapping system..

But can't lie nothing has put a big smile on face like Bonnie did and course meeting up with you lot at meets:-) kinda pondering buying another GT who knows maybe Bonnie V2 lol

    anyway hello to all

    Hi Nick,

Good to here from you again. You might need pockets for a half decent GT these days, but there are still the odd bargain to be had!

You will see a lot of the old lot at the RTOC national day, santa pod, normally may/June time each year.

Hi nick I bought everything under the bonnet out of bonnie and currently have it all fitted in my Renault extra van,
It's running on adaptronic ecu now as the omex ecu was nackered, been having a lot of issues with the head gasket on the engine cannot get one to seal right with 80mm pistons and liners, was the engine just built and not tested before you sold it to mark
