    Pulsar GTIR

As well as my 5 I also have another turbo toy a Nissan pulsar gtir. I bought this cheap bout three years ago with a knackered engine and in need of body work. I sorted the engine out over time and also resprayed it my self in my nans double garage. It's not quite finished yet but I took it to one show last year and since then I've had interest from some magazines to do a feature so I was we'll chuffed as it was completely standard bar wheels when I bought it here's some pics also has some slight renault influence with a set of turbines

Nice! Always fancied a pulsar but surely parts cost an arm and a leg! Great job though looks sweet in that colour

    Re: Pulsar GTIR

    Looks good

SR20DET is soooo cheap to get 300bhp, avoiding the temptation of that power in the track car due to its weight and live axle abilities. But may run 260-280 this year depending on how well the boost controllercan bring down the generic chip levels or maybe just annoy Scoff further and fit the adaptronic unit in the garage to it

that looks awesome. I considered selling the 5 and buying one of the but was worried if anything went wrong. How does it compare to the 5 to drive?

The drive is quick and they are light and it really puts you back in your seat, the handling is good brakes are poor though as standard. All the stories about gearboxes are false its the same as any car you launch it all the time something will give and parts arent that exspensive. It is similar to the 5 though just the four wheel drive gives you so much more in a way

    Re: Pulsar GTIR

driven both a 350 bhp pulsar, and high powered r5gtt
to be fair the puslar is quick, but not as quick as a 250bhp r5gtt in accleration
the weight difference is quite a bit,+transmission losses

i wouldnt sell a gtt for a pulsar, the gearboxes on them are just as bad as 5gtt once you up the power, but twice as much to repair/replace and a complete arse to work on, unless you have full access to a two/ four post ramp, the engines can be fragile also at higher boost levels, plus they are packed into the engine bay

if you want a more hassle free motor stick to your b18f engine

There not hard to work I don't think I've had three now and for a turbo car they are quite good to work on, gearboxes upto about 350bhp are one same as any other. There one of those cars you either like them or you not there's no middle ground. Also engines maintained well can run 1 bar no problems even 1.2 regular oil changes etc. the only thing thy one times can be prone to is bottom end knock

Another car I have a soft spot for, especially because of it's Rally heritage. It's the detail parts, like a throttle butterfly per cylinder.

Your car looks great, especially considering you've done it in your Nan's garage!
