I've still got the engine that came out of my old extra many years ago. It was built by Ian Nixon of Europarts as his own engine for his old E plate drag car.
It was a great engine with low comp pistons and a seriously well ported head. On a standard carb and standard t2 it made 173bhp and 226lb of torque at 19 psi through a pace intercooler. So it was a bit special.
The van eventually ended up written off and I pulled the engine and put it into storage. Badly.
It's now seized and needs freeing off. I've tried oil down the bores but its stuck solid. I think removing the pistons to check the rings are free and replacing the shells should see it right but I'm certainly no expert.
I would do it myself but I always work at a snails pace, I loose stuff, I'm not methodical, I have no patience at all and I'm a master of bodgerey.
I have also just bought a Europarts can which will also want fitting.
So....
Anyone feeling brave enough?
