Anyone know the law on MOT`s

Hi does anyone know exactly how the law/mot work? Basically my mot runs out later this month on my 5 and it is both taxed and insured, the car is locked away and nowhere near the public highway. What I want to know is it possible to leave the mot until early next year to get done as I won`t be using the car till then anyway.I know that you used to be able to drive the car to the place of mot if the car is prebooked in I`m just not sure how you stand if legally the car is taxed (not sorned) but has no MOT..thanks a lot it anyone knows the answer..

Just leave it until next year will be fine. You only need insurance to drive to a pre booked mot.

Cheers Brigsy will leave it for now I just didnt know if the car is taxed wether it should have a valid MOT as I would rather leave it tucked away than to bring it out in the crap weather just to get it done then stick it back away for 3 months..

Check you insurance for cover with no mot.So company's require the car to be road legal to be covered.
