Fingers crossed ill be changing my brake servo in the next couple of days.
Does anyone have any advise on changing it?
i have limited tools as my garage contents are in storage at the moment.
Can i get it from or above or will i need to go in through the wheel space?
when i remove it from the master cylinder is it nessersary to undo all the brake pipes? to save bleeding?

I was chatting to Colin 'the master' the other day. Sure he told me the best way to do the servo was from the wheel arch. Think he may have also mentioned undoing the engine mounts and jacking the engine up slightly for more access.
Out of interest did you manage to get a new servo or are you fitting a second hand ?.
I found it easier just to remove the inlet manifold.
I was told before i did it tho, that you can get it out through the wheelarch. Its very tight in there tho.
Recently done a servo swap on mine .
Straight forward once the inlet is was out the way I tried through the wheel arch was abit of a night mate an preferred to take the longer route rather than struggle.
Like I say really easy once you have access.
And incase you don't know it's bolted on through the footwell gain access by lifting the carpet ;-)

Taking the drivers side shaft out might give you better access to drop it out below?

Out of interest, where did you get your servo from? Did it cost you an arm and a leg?? I need one but heard they are a right pain to get hold of

I wouldnt bother for that amount of money. you would be better off with a 2nd hand one, even if you have to cahnge it 10 times. unless your loaded of course.I was wondering if there was a non genuine one available that was cheaper? Is there one from another car that might be a close fit?
What about a normal 5 , do they still make the non turbo type`s , will these fit?
Are all r5 servo`s the same.
The gt turbo servo has different part numbers but i bet a non gtt one would work fine, i still have the diesel servo on my van

is it going to be a pain it the hoop taking the inlet manifold / carb off ?.
Just weighing up my options weather it will be easier taking the inlet manifold off or enging mount and jack up method.
My knuckles are red raw lol
i was trying to get the 5 on the road for monday, not gonna happen, so might as well keep it off the road for a month and get it into renault , they say its 3 hours labour

that had to be the worst job ever.
Took it out straight down with shaft off , didnt need to undoo engine mount.
Just need to reattach master cylinder now
master cylinder on, brakes bled, servo works and brakes are back to usaual ,
need to get it MOT`d now ,

For any one who is interseted here is the part number for the Bosch aftermarket Brake Servo / Booster for the phase 2 , also a list of 5`s that the same Servo was used in.
I also have a list of all Bosch aftermarket parts but cant seem to upload it as its in a dodgey format, sure i could email it if needed.
I am pleased it all worked out ok.

Just took a look on the bosch teccom and they dont recognise the number though
If you put 0204125026 in Google.de .fr .es --- etc you will get companies still selling them.
