    Parts for rebuild

Im starting to rebuild an engine and just wanted to no where you would recommend getting the parts from, Ive looked on cgb, ktec and bbpt and they all have the parts but i think they are going to be over priced due to there name.

Ive had a look on gsf and ecp website but cant find all the parts im after.

Where would you recomend and are they reasonably priced? im after piston and liners, bearings etc etc (everything for a rebuild)

thanks in advance for your advice

    Re: Parts for rebuild

I wish the old forums were still available...

GSF for the P&L's, top-end & bottom-end gasket sets, water-pump, clutch, starter motor, radiator (avoid copper-core), alternator.
Cranks & Bearings in Enfield for anything bottom-end bearing related.
Ya local hardware shop for M10 x 100mm, 12.9 tensile headbolts.
CTM for a lightened & balanced flywheel, head check & skim, manifold matching.
    Adam L for a turbo.
Kent, Piper, BB, or CatCams for a camshaft.
    Renault for cam followers.
    Halfords for oil & anti-freeze.

    Re: Parts for rebuild

is there a great deal involved in a rebuild on the c1j engine ? ive never fully rebuilt a engine, but have done plenty of work on tu3, xu and zetec type engines, just wondering if at some point its worth trying a full rebuild onthe c1j

    Re: Parts for rebuild

Lots of people seem to do it, and report back that it isn't that hard. Just requires patience the first few times. Like any engine I suppose? If I ever need my engine rebuilding, I plan to do it myself
