    2 1/2 inch down pipe

    Hi guys, I have brought a 2 1/2 inch down pipe fitted it at the weekend and it's blowing slightly from the down pipe to exhaust joint, I have what I believe to b 2 1/2 inch exhaust so do I still need to use the metal doubt ring thing from that joint or can I just bolt them together without it.     i would expect there to be a soft metal seal between the two, with the downpipe and exhaust being 2.5" i would expect the standard one would create a restriction in the system though due to the smaller size, have a chat with your local exhaust fitter to see what they use and if you can buy one

    I have no advice other than they do not sit very well at the best of times. cake a load of putty and silicone on it :/ unless there is a massive gap
