bit of a small update havnt been able to do much , either cash or I havnt been home for 3 week.
So I had a cage wating for me whe i got back so i couldbt resist throwing that in to see what it looks like and a nice side exit which tbh im unsure about lol .
Havnt had an update in a while an tbh I lost faith a little. But with any luck it's going to the body shop this week but can't decide on paint so a coin is gonna get flipped heads for red with a graphite grey cage tails for white with a subaru blue cage I've asked the body shop to do this so the outcome should be a surprise
off to the paint shop gotta wait 2months or so for it to be finished the guy reckons, hopfully be popping up next weekend to how he's getting on
Nice work mate keep it up
Just looked back through the pictures as I thought flipping a coin for a colour change was just crazy
Then it became obvious that you're unsure on the original colour anyway, which appears to be black from the last photo with the roll cage.
White is a popular colour so that would be my choice or if your can get the original colour verified return it to that.
If i was a betting man I'd put money on it coming back white anyway as the painter will charge you the same for both colours but less work involved in changing it from what it already is
Whites generally easier to paint, hides blemishes quite well.
Yeh I'm just really unsure on the colour , I just love red cars but then think there must of been a reason for buying I white one :/
Reds great when its polished, but fades very quickly, you ever seen a faded white car?
White does fade, its goes and off colour, a rough colour... but can be sorted easier than red (even so now days alot of products to help RED not to fade), and a decent Quality Paint/Lacquer should be used... less risk of fade.
Red does look very nice... but seems to be a few red ones about now, I prefer white (had 4 white 5 in the past, hate Pearl white), but love my faded/cracked red/pink car... in no rush to sort the paintwork out
just sitting in the body shop, I got my mum to nipp up the body shop to see how its getting on took a pic for me . With any luck i should be home next weekend so ill get a few more photos.
and the car is staying white with a subaru blue cage, just gotta make my mind up on the engine now either get my c1j rebuilt or f7p turbo im terrible at making decisions
Phase 1 or phase 2???
From your pics the only ph1 parts I can see are is the gear lever( spring type, rather than cable) and the subframe towing eye but this has been changed as discussed.
The phase 2 parts are:
Glacier White paint, body kit Inc fogs grill, rear spoiler, rear arches. Interior Inc seats carpet, cloth door cards, centre console.
Aei behind bulk head, anti perc brackets, cooling system and steering rack.
IMHO the shell is deffo ph2 the aei behind the bulk head and the anti perc brackets are the give away features.
The shell doesn't seem to av had a colour change. The shells are always black under the boot floor sound deadening. What suspension struts does it have? Have u received the v5 yet? I'd check the vin number on the near side strut panel.
Yeh ive finally received the log book it turned up 8months late everything matches up , it's sounds A little wierd an I didn't really realise this until I joined rtoc . The strut tops are phase 2 so it's a mystery I guess . Ohwell dosnt realy phase me just hope it's a cracking motor when it's done
a few goddies waiting for me for when i get home
ooooooooh, EFI
few more parts had two new sills and its in white primer atm cant wait for it to be done
Why's everyone else's shopping so much better than mine Tesco and mothercare bags are all I see lol.
new blower and engine has been sent to get built so should be back in a week cant wait
few pics fresh outta paint should be getting built over christmas

ps, did ya get my text? pm bud regards the seats etc....
yeh buddy just replied, an yeh i am but im stupidly scared to scratch, dent or damage it an im getting worried it wont get finished in time for me to drive it as ive been told ill be working in germany come february
yeh cant wait tbh , sounds stupid but ive only ever seen a few at fcs last year an i only ever drove it twice an thort lets build the car ive always wanted. So should be fun to drive and meet everyone else and there motors
Looks like a good resto
Does seem strange being polar white on a D reg as it wasn't an available colour untill G reg iirc Is the Vin number on the strut top made up of "whole" numbers/letters or are they made up from dots?
engine built just waiting to go in , just need get a clutch sorted and get a engine hoist from somewhere
got them from https://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.php?u=349
had a couple of hours on the old girl yesterday , its starting to look a little more car like now. just wish id had a little more motivation from the start an it might of actually been finished now

Love the wheels and race style perspex windows
You cant beat the look of fresh paint.. will be awesome when complete.. keep the pics coming during assembly
Nice one people it's gotta go back the body shop found a few runs in the paint they're sorting them for nothing though. I'm just worried about fitting the dash now as I've got the roll cage an the dash needs cutting to fit it but it's spanking new
Looks lovely that!
The car looks fantastic! What brand is the cage? is it bolt in or weld in??
And how are the perspex windows held up in the front?
