    No oil pressure (williams)

Is there any common fault with these?? me and a mate bought one, engine was out but had been rebuilt apparantly!
new oil pump apparantly fitted! started it up when we got the lump in,sounded beautiful for 10 seconds then started to knock, oil presure gauge (tempermental i know) was barely flickering.

probably not had a new pump but just thought i'd ask if there are any common faults reguarding oil pressure on a willy??

if the oil warning light on the dash isn't on then the pressures not at danger

the in dash pressure dial is useless 90% of the time, personally I'd take it with a pinch of salt. only real way to tell is borrow a mechanical gauge and check properly if your concerned

when you say knocking, what's knocking? top end? bottom end? any other symptoms, down on power, pissing oil out exhaust etc etc?

did you prime it to make sure you had oil pressure before firing it up?
