Spent a couple of hours cutting the rot out of the inner wing tonight, it'd be easier to replace the whole panel but you can't get them anymore so it's a patch up job :/

Ill do my best, even though I've only had it what 6 months and its a beat up old bird with no power I've grown really attached to it.

I've been researching them on the net and there's next to no one with them any more, these things are as rear as rocking horse s**t and any that turn in half decent condition get broken for parts she may only be a lowly middle of the range GTL but its still an example of the breed

Had a good days graft on the passenger side inner wing and its now solid and rot free

The welding isn't pretty but it's stronger and there's all I care about

All day Saturday, started at 8am, finished at 5pm, got quicker and better as I went along so hopefully the drivers side inner wing will go better.

I was holding it about 45 degrees to the panel so that's about right then?

That's what I tried to do, at first I tried a continuos weld and just kept making a mess so I tacked it at the corners and then just tacked it abit at a time

Two pieces have to be very close preferably touching, so as your going you find you need to tap them together.

now you've opened a can of worms, but looks like your making progress. keep using it and do it a bit at a time or it will turn into a bit project. keep it tidy and your have the 9 lads wanting it off you in the future
my 11 looked as tidy as your 9 until i started taking bits off to find similar, along with previous accidents to the front and rear i'll finish it one day though.

What 9 lads? According to the dvla there's next to none left something like 8no. 9turbos left and that's on and off the road

It's got no MOT at the minute as I knew she wouldn't pass with hand size holes in the sills, so it's a case of doing all the welding now and make her solid so when I do get her tested she won't need to come off the road again for any major repairs.

Mate you should see the sills, you can literally put your hand in them, how it got a ticket ill never know, I was half tempted to take it to the same garage for a MOT just to give more time to save up the cash for the repairs but after seeing how bad it was I'm glad I didnt

I've gone through eBay, Renault, every local motor factors, over a dozen different parts supplies online and there zero chance of getting inner wings, to be fair I've sorted the passenger side ok, the drivers side is no worse so once I've done that its just the sills to do and get some new wings which Renault have in stock
