Deffo worth sticking with long time or localish member for collection's. I was tempted with buying his engine but the price he was after I could have built one up myself with new parts for not far of the price he was after.

Drop him a pm matey I know he is a longtime member on the clio16valver forum, I can drop him a pm for you later if you wish and get him to come on here and respond to you. You got any pic's of the clutch?

I have message him on the cliowilliams forum asking him to logon here and contact yourself.

Sounds like you are making good progress so the project is in the final stages then. What clutch you going to be using?

    Re: wag1

    Sorry to hear about this?

I cannot understand how a clutch that has genuinely done 2500 miles and was absolutely 100% fine when removed from my engine is ****ed

Bit disappointing that you havnt even tried to PM me? Surely by slagging me off by saying I can't be trusted is a bit quick without any contact whatsoever?

I have indeed sold alot of things from my turbo conversion that DID only cover around 2400 miles judging by my Williams' speedo. Everything what bought brand new for the build including the clutch. I EVEN put the original receipt in the box for you reference.

I bought it from mardi gras motor sport for 440ish sterling.

Bit pathetic giving someone negative feedback with NO contact whatsoever. All my ebay customers are more than happy. Im not out to mug anybody off at all. I assure you I have better things to do to earn 200 poxy quid.

Yes I am a regular c16v member and again I have the entire clubs support with being a genuine seller/buyer.

Thanks to James5 to alerting me to this. Sorry to hear it but I have even had positive feed back from this club too.

Clutches even new dont look like theres much meat on them. can be difficult to tell sometimes. especially if its been used and the dust has accumulated in rivets/grooves, end up looking like theres nothing left.

    Re: wag1

theres an easy way to tell, if its in the box it will state the reference thickness of the plates / paddles on the side. Just stick a vernier over it and see what it reads then you'll know how worn it is.

Saying that if its going to Scoff's tomorrow he'll know how good or bad it is!

    Re: wag1

I would NOT of advertised the clutch for £200 if I didnt think it was worth it. You could see how little wear there was on the 4 faces. In fact there was such little wear when I removed it I got depressed realising how bloody much the ****ing thing cost me too start with!

Well if the clutch is in the same condition as them pistons you were selling and how you described them to me I don't hold much hope for the clutch

    Righteo,

I was 100% honest with the engine. It had detonated and I didnt realise whenfirst advertising the engine. My mistake.

Geta grip mate, compareit to abrand new plate and see the difference. You have obviously never seen a four paddle. There arehardly any meat on them anyway

    Re: wag1

How can you justify what you are saying?

You didnt even bother to contact me before posting n here? Must make you some kind of fool really?

Surely by resolving it with me via PM/email rather than just going all arsehole on me and sticking a negative feedback thread up would have been the better option?

If you had PM'd me stating to me that you were unhappy with the item I had sent you I would have asked for photographic evidence, a second opinion by a reputable garage and then asked you to send the clutch back to me in return for a full refund, however you just come on here and slag me off.

So quite frankly, you can stuff a refund up your arse

    Re: wag1

I have in the past bought many parts from Frank as he is a local member and a well known member of clio16valver forum for many years. I nor others on there have had any problems with him in the past and I think this is the 1st case that I have heard of. Frank is a genuine person and NOT out to do people for money as to be fair I've seen seen where he use to live and he doesn't need the money.

    Re: wag1

If its any help helix will replace the pads on a worn paddle clutch and check it over for you. I've had a 4 paddle and 6 paddle done by them and it was roughly around £100 each so it's cheaper than replacing with new. That is if the rest of it is ok.

    Re: wag1

The 4 paddle plate I had done was very close to rivetsbeing flush with the paddle faces. Literally a mm or so. The pads were cera metallic so should take an age to wear. Put a photo of the plate on this thread and let the people who know paddle clutches decide. Would have thought it would have been obvious to the seller if the rivets had worn? Bit harsh to bag someone off without contacting them first.

I'm sorry to say, although I know you were pissed off at the time of posting, you should have either contacted Frank via PM or sent both Frank & a mod a PM to try to sort it.
If it was me you had slated like that without contact I'd be pissed off as well TBH.
I'm not taking sides, just stating how I see it, you didn't even give the guy a chance to refund you or anything

So, lets see the pics or if you are taking it to Chris, what has he said ?
