    crack in carb body

I have discovered a hairline crack on my carb

It is on the side of the carb body, where the bolts hold it down onto the inlet manifold so it is not leaking any fuel etc, but I suspect it could be causing my erratic idle/cutting out as The carb has recently been rebuilt and all but one gasket is in excellent condition.

do you think that chemical metal or the likes would be sufficient to repair such an issue?

    Re: crack in carb body

I put a little on mine where the carb lobster is bolted down as I overtightened a bolt and it started to split

Years ago i tuned a gtt that had a crack in the same place, possibly from been overtigtened down onto the inlet in the past. The engine ran fine so dont worry too much, just replace it if you ever do another carb build/service.
