    Re: Nice!

Most folk on here are busy talking the value of these cars down, yet on the flip side complain about the expense of the new parts, especially from Renault.

I think the sale of this car represents a bit of a landmark event for the Renault 5 GT Turbo.

No not been in the rtoc circle as far as I'm aware, but was another hot topic when it popped up on eBay around 10 months ago or there abouts.

Looks like it never sold as its the same advert as it was back then.

There is a big difference between perceived worth and people parting with their cash. It is very easy to say "if i had the money... etc." a bit different when you are counting out the 20's when you haven't won the lottery.

As the numbers of 5s dwindle we approach a watershed where the good ones will go up in value and the 'less good' ones will remain cheap.

I was very lucky finding the right car for me at the right time. Phoebe Ph1 is great and is having a little TLC to get her back to perfect condition, i see it as money well spent to keep her properly 'mint'. The history with every mile recorded in a little blue book is also a bonus but didn't affect what i was prepared to pay.

Well first of all nobody knows what it did actually sell for. I think the seller did a great job, probably bought it fairly cheap, gave it a service got it detailed and then had it photographed and all this by people who know what they are doing, then advertised it on their site which is clearly aimed at a certain market, just great marketing. Also it has the advantage of a single owner with low mileage, there are almost no others that fit that brief.

& lets face it... chances are the person who ever did buy will rarely drive it... will sit in somebodys show garage and thats about it... sad way for a GTT to live if you ask me..

    Re: Nice!

I think that Pearl car has been done to a very good standard and is worth £5k+.

I agree with the idea that good ones are going to go up in value, whether they are OE or not. The number of GTTs in excellent condition is dwindling and that means increased prices whilst there's still a demand for the car.
