    Set up Questions??

    Info please

    B18FT
    1 bar of boost
    249cc injectors
    Standard throttle body
    T2 blower.
    FSE adjustable fuel reg.

This is what i got. ( Lap on Mallory last year)

    Cold idle 10.1 AFR
    Hot idle 11.2 AFR

On boost at 1 bar 15.0 AFR !!! ( Reading using standard fuel regulator)

Now it maybe lack of fuel pressure on boost causing crap AFR on boost.

What setup would people recommend?? 32mm bypass?? Does the maf pot adjust fueling at idle only??

Just after a good proven setup then i can fine tune it on the dyno.

    Cheers
    Nick.

Has is the man to speak to really. Think a 32mm hole will be to big for those injectors, what ones are they? Maf adjusts idle and until it sees 5v. Set the bypass hole for fueling with wot then adj maf to suit for idle.

Also I'm having probs with far regs so mark has sorted me a standard reg and rail. You only need a rising rate reg if you're forcing std injectors prob ok for 18psi boost max. for that you will not need a bypass hole.

    Re: Set up Questions??

    i am/was running
    15 psi boost
    standard injectors
    no bypass hole
    clio rsi fuel pump
    standard tb
    standard cam
    scoff mod
    afm set to 650ohms
all done as cheap as possible
car runs really well but does not want to hot start now,no idea of afrs as i didnt have the time to check and setup so set the afm to 650 to be safe. survived a trackday at donnington and the drive there and back clocking 120mph on a private road.
The turbo, injectors, and fuel pump are probably on their limits now tho

Reg needs to be set to 3bar with the pump running and the engine off.

    Re: Set up Questions??

The screw on the maf will adjust the ohms, if remember its the 2 outer pins you check mate.

Ah thats cool well the standard reg should do fine unless thats got fault in it and causing it to loose pressure

    Re: Set up Questions??

Ok, set the maf to 650 ohms, fuel pressure is 45 psi at idle with vac connected, with vac disconnected its oscillating betweem 40 and 50 psi with a needle wiggle. AFR are 11.1 at idle hot.

Fuel pressure has gone up slightly as engine is not running, was 45 psi at idle with vac. Is that correct??

    Re: Set up Questions??

Wants to be around 42psi without engine running so that's prob ok. It will drop when engine is running as injectors are bleeding off some of the pressure.

    Re: Set up Questions??

So what did it change when i adjusted the maf from 390 to 650 ohms. will that give me more fuel on boost and bring the AFR down to a safe level??

    Re: Set up Questions??

Nope that will adj idle and light throttle. The only way to richen the fueling up is to either run less boost or fit bigger injectors. If you are using a rising rate reg you should be able to get 18psi boost with standard injectors fueling ok.
