Where to go for engine rebuild?

After trying many different avenues with my smoke problem, i have come to the conclusion that i should just get the motor rebulit.
Question is where to go? I'm after a standard rebuld, nothing fancy, possibly a 270/275 cam and vernier. Also want the head checked over and possibly freshened up.

I would do it myself but have nowhere suitable to do it and could do with a quickish turn around.

Obviously i could do with it being cheap but want a decent job done so will pay for it!

A used engine is tempting but i have been bitten buying a used engine before, all ended in

parts for a freshen up would be:

    rings £60
    bearing set £70
    oil pump £100
    piper 270 cam £200
    headgasket set £50

thats not including new liners, chain or tensioner, or uprated springs (i dont think you need them for the piper 270)

so thats £480 for parts alone.
    £100 in labour....
    £580 spank you very much.
