    People with dialogys please

Could someone look on and tell me what the electric window mechanisms look like for a Laguna 2.0 IDE, 2002, hatch..

Could you tell me if the motor mech is the same be it left or right, or are they different ? Anyone got a cost for a driver side one from Renault or wherever ?

Finally, anyone know what the fault is likely to be if the window goes all the way up, all the way down but will only go down if you stop the window mid-way. IE, you have to go all the way down and then go up all the way to close it. I guess there is a bunch of contacts inside the motor that senses the postion, maybe thats buggered.

Info, part numbers, dialogy pics please ??

    laguna windows

    COMMON FAULT

right and left have different motors

depends on which window and if it has anti pinch!

say its the drivers (as usually thats the only one that fecks up)

and it has anti pinch (usually does dependent on spec) and i think they have more wires!!! LOL

usually there is a little circuit board on top of the motor that water gets into and fecks up! (this has just happened on our megane!)

so bit more info chap on which window etc and i'll see what my small brain can still remember!

oK, your is anti pinch...this is whats causing the fault your having....works on resistance back to the motor/switch unit..
    as said, common problem...
drivers and passenger side are different..

first thing, remove the switch and clean it up well, any corrosion on pins (as it gets wet if the window is down slightly)...and try again..
usually though its the motor worn, high resistance and causes the fault...

    Re: People with dialogys please

thanks guys, good info as ever

moggy, its the drivers window, hoping it'll be a corroded / buggered pcb as you say.

paul, yes, that price was already quoted by the garage offering the work, my mate thought he was having a laugh regards the cost of the motor!! guess not

if it helps, part of the mech (is it cable ?) broke.. went to the garage, had a new mech fitted, great, but now left with the problem that I described. I suspect more likely they've either buggered up that control pcb in fitment or when the mech snapped the control pcb got screwed up.

so, action plan: pull the control PCB out and refurb that (thats the easy bit, it's my job). failing that, we're into new motor teritory because of the current sence / resitance business.

will give it a go in the week for him.

then it sounds like it need the top and bottom settings renewing....

wind window all the way down...hold the DOWN switch for about 5 seconds...wind all the way up to the top, hold UP switch for 5 seconds.....

might not be a fault other a techy who didnt know how to reset it if it was stopped half way
