Engine mount.......dead!!!
You may of seen in my project thread that I took my engine out yesterday.
Upon closer inspection, the front passenger side engine did this.....
Now i dont profess to be being a renault 5 genius but I am sure thats knackered lol!!!
So where are people buying their mounts these days??
And whay implications/symptoms would this broken mount have had on my car when it was being driven? A bit of wobbling and vibrations???

the mount shown above is very normal to find it broken or about to brake.
one of the things i always check when doing a clutch or g/box replacment etc

I got in to my work place the firstline version of the engine mounts for a local member, they are quite good we found, maybe not as strong as the pearl version which has been discontinued for a while though.

Re: Engine mount.......dead!!!
Its very common to find this Liam.
I bet a fair % of members cars who don't have their head under the Bonnet have also got a broken gearbox mount.
Problem is it's just relying on the bond strength of the Rubber to the Metal. Poor old design really

Steve- yes your right it is a bit of a poor design. At least it's not too expensive to fix though, which is a good thing.
I do actually wonder how many people are driving around with the gearbox mount broken???
Will I ever get my 5 running again with all I keep finding!! Lol.
