Hi Rob... The piston volume is -0.9 cm3.

Im from ARGENTINA but I'm 99% sure that is the same piston and Renault turbo engine.

I can Help you.... i have that excell what i made and use for calculate the Compression Ratio.

    You need to know
    1)Head cam volume
    2)Head Joint Volume

You have the common std engine 1397cc ?.

Thats all .... If you wish i can send you my excell.... give you email address...

    byeee and have luck....!!

    Keep on boossttt!!

That is very high compression ! Normally there is 44cc, aproximately in the cylinder head (like dann's excel shows). Remember, you have to take in to consideration the raised piston crown (or low piston crown if they are machined for lower compression). Also the thicker head gasket will make some difference.

everything is standard apart from the head and the chamber in the head takes 32ml to fill

    oh and a 1.9mm hg

Here translate the excell, and put the Rob Data....
    (I hope it's well translate ).

I have a Cylinder Head like Rob ..and y worked the chamber like "A GROUP" and put a higher sheet gasket, and obtain 8:1 Comp. Ratio.

    here you go http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

i will not pretend to understand the complexity's of this bar i know high compression for a normally aspirated engines and low compression for forced induction engines.

Rob, how tall is the cylinder head ? It should be something close to 73.5mm. I guess yours is much less than that ?

Yeah, thats way way too short for a GT. Is that a real GT turbo head ? 2.5mm is a lot of skims ! Most of the NA models used a 71.5mm head I think, along with a thinner gasket. They are usually detectable because they have 2 less exhaust manifold studs at the lower center. But not all, I think the models with the twin choke carb had the same stud pattern as the GT turbo. (because it used split manifolds like the GT. The other NA used a 1-piece manifold for inlet and exhaust and so used less studs)
