    c1j wiring loom

Ive never took off a wiring loom from a renault 5 before , however i purchased an engine which came with a loom.. Im amazed if they really are this simple.

    Any help and advice.

First we have the main multiplug that sits behind passenger headlight correct.

    where do these go

and these lot, i imagine some are alternator?

    and this plug?

is this really a full wiring loom once the relays added?, just seems so damn small

The oval green shaped plug goes on the rad fan temp switch, the purple and yellow wires in the bundle at the end go to the spade connecters on the top of the alternater. The relay holder is for the rad fan relay, and the think black and red wires with ring terminals are the pos and neg on the alternater. Slightly further down youve got two orange and two brown, these are for the oil level and pressure switches. Doesnt look like theres any anti perc wireing in this particular loom either

dont quote me on this as mine is all custom wired but dosent the fan switch wiring come off the relay that sits by the alternator? if so just trace them wires back..

that relay connector should have your fan switch connectors coming from it, difficult to tell but i think it's that red wire which has tape on it is one of them as it been joined on to a brown wire by the looks of it.

the chopped wires are a switch feed from the perc fan sensor and a permanent live for the relay for the perc fan which has been removed so that will need capping off

    Re: c1j wiring loom

probably best to strip it back to the original loom, it looks more like they've just cut the orignal switch plug off and extended the wire for some reason.

from memory i think the other one should be the orange wire, so the brown and orange are your fan switch

The two wires taped together go to the fan. Standard plug was faulty. The orange wire goes to the temp switch along with the other spare wire. Just needs a relay.
