clio gtt - helping out a mate

mate mate swapped his 172 for a ph1 clio with a gtt engine last week... 12 hours into ownership and disaster struck!

from what it looks like it was very recently rebuilt, and very badly, lots of important nuts missing, and by the looks of it one of the big end caps was loose...

anyway, sourced a bottom end on sunday, and then set about sorting it to rebuild

stripped it monday night and gave it a clean and some etch primer

then last night.... managed to make some progress

hopefully have it running this eve all being well

as its not mine, its had a proper build, stripped cleaned and new seals, shells etc etc

if it was mine i'd use old shells off the workshop floor, and cable ties

Yes indeed. From what I can make out he was a dick, reciepts of forged pistons etc but had standard engine and lots of bits that were wrong. It's ok now it's had some tlc, should get it back to him sat all being well
