Finally got out to paint the grill, and lacquer it.... inbetween the rain...

Not come out to bad considering it was very rushed & did it the back garden with little/none protection for dust, flys etc.

The SLR is on charge, once the car is back home and had a clean I will show upload a few more pics of some updates....

Btw anybody interested in the orange wheels let me know... may also sell my 285mm disc brakes & exenders...

Went to see the car today as its at a mates garage....

Hoping to get the issue that stopping it from running sorted this week...

I took some photo's of it today...looking abit sorry for itself...

Far to many shades of red going on... Have ordered a brand new front bumper from renault... I am getting the car fully repainted, kit off, any rust treated, painted and get the car looking OE...

Would consider fitting a C1J... So if anybody has a good spare engine bay going cheap message me

The car is running, going very nicely indeed....

As you can see far to many shades of red going on

Will also need to repaint the inner boot/maybe fully inside

Very rough paint around the windscreen surround.... Although no rust & feels solid

Need to sort out some minor electrical gremlins

A few more electrics to sort

A battle scare from a previous life.... New bumper is in the shed awaiting the respray....

The more finished they are the harder they seem to be to sell. People would rather spend 2k on a car that needs work than 3k on one that's sweet. A quick lick of paint and yours will look ace.

Yeh its not a bad car, very solid, drives well, just the paintwork that lets it down.... Have been quoeted £500 for a blow over, or £900 to remove engine, bodykit, repaint everything inside and out... Which i was more than happy with...

I had a bloke down from me in sittingbourne spray mine for £700 that included flatting back then a coat of sealer, then flatting back then a blow over using ICI solid paint, i think if it was base then clear it would have been £1000, i only had the sealer put on because i tried painting the car using cellulose, was ok for engine bay and interior but not outside ive got his number if you want it Liam.

Translation "I can paint your car for £500 with a fence sprayer, but it would be a sh1tty job as Fence sprayer's are designed for Fence's, not car's, but I suppose if you just want some paint on the car then it will do??

lol I paid £300 for just a bumper and grill to be sprayed.

£500 respray. Better off eating the paint and farting over the car.

Dont get me wrong for £500 i wouldnt excpect a show winning paint job..... But for me i dont want that nor do i want to spend £1000's on my car

The bloke who quoeted me £500 for a full blow over works for panelcraft in ashford but can use the paint booth over the weekends.....

The over weekend he did an aston martin (passenger wing & door) for £300 and you couldnt spot the difference....

Orange wheels really emphasise the fade in the paint and don't do it any favours.
