    replacing shims

I have managed to find a B18E cam and the guy i bought it from has sent a set of shims with it too,but one is missing

question i have is shims matched to cam, or are they matched to the head? and do they need swapping?

im thinking i could fit the cam with the shims fitted already and then check the clearance between the cam and shim with a set of feeler gauges, i have a volvo haynes and sure i have seen some mesurements in there

    Re: replacing shims

i just swapped the cam when I fitted my ep cam and left the shims, the worked out quite well not ideal way if doing it but as long as you check the clearences and theyre still within tollerence its all good.
