Steve out of interest which surge tank you going for as I am going to be doing the same thing on my 5 I have been looking @ 1.5 & 2L tank's but just not sure which one to use it will have to be mounted in the boot as I am retaining the interior seats

End of the month I will have the turbo as well, gone for a 2871 style but journal bearing form, going to try a .64 rear 1st & see how I get on, I think the biggest restriction is going to be the cast manifold really & I can always swap the .64 rear for an .86 if I find the .64 to small.
I'll also be maxing the 500cc injectors out I expect
I should start saving for gearboxes really
Pretty sure BBPT had 350bhp+ out of that manifold although it produced a lot of heat so its down to what power you are after.

When Mart and I did the C1J conversion in the 19 16V Chamade the Megane 225 FMIC we fitted practically fell into place. There's sooo much room

    Looks cool Steve, sleeper ahoy

Have you looked if the smaller twin pass like mine fits? Then you wouldn't have a pipe running back on its self.

i looked at a twin pass but all i read on them is how much it kills flow so went with what steve has ive a pic of mine some where when i had to weld a alloy donut on the end as a slicone bed just wasnt tight enough to come back on itself and the pipe work is a master piece under the n/s/f lol

    Re: R19 16v T project

What spec of turbo you go for in the end mate?

Could you not gently dress the bulkhead alittle to give you the extra clearence if you space the turbo out abit?

Do the X plate 172's have stronger gears or the same as valver ? It's says JC5xxxxxx on the box so it must be the oe one..
Thats the box your after well thats the one I got in my one, it needs to be a phase 1 172 or from a 172 cup.

Ph1 172 box and the cup box have different ratios I think, ph1 boxes have nice long gears, perfect for mile munching and big speed

Didn't realise that, I got told they were the same ratio as the Clio williams box as well.

Ph1 has a jc5 089 box the cup has a jc5 129 as far as I remember tho I'm not sure if it has any relevance to ratios, I know it's a pain in the ass to get a ph1 box second hand. Nice tho, long ratios, 7800rpm will see you close to 70 in second gear

Yeah slower speeds when limiter is set at 6500rpm though I really need to go play with that car again

PH1 has a 3.89 final drive, the others (inc Williams) are all 4.07

yep, a bit less revs at the same speed - 4.5%, it's not massive. GTT has a 3.73.
