    Spoiler removal

Just a quicky question, going to remove the spoiler for paint tomorrow and just wondering how it comes off?.

Are there bolts, lugs or both. Dose it come of in any particular direction.

    Thanks!!

    Re: Spoiler removal

the one time i took my spoiler off i just pulled it hard but not reckless, thing that makes it difficult is those speed nuts that bite onto the tailgate lugs.only thing i can suggest is to use some putty knifes and be extra careful.

this is assuming you have the oe spoiler!

    Yer its o.e.

So its a one time fit thing?. do you have more desciption. The more ther better. how many retaining points and is it just a case of easing it off, theres not a single bolt?

    Re: Spoiler removal

theres like at least 6 or maybe even 8 fixings ,and those little speed nuts (thats what i call em' anyway) dont seem to grip as well after being removed so new ones or just stick it back on with some sealant.

the nuts themselves are more like square washers with holes in them pressed through with a split each side of the hole,so they push on easy enough but are a mare to remove, also im unsure of how they fit to the the actual spoiler, possibly slide in or clip in.

here you go rob there somin like this-

    Re: Spoiler removal

when i did mine i think there were 6 fixings i just pulled the spoiler off as flat and strait as i could as you can disturb the paint, some of the clips came off with the spoiler and some stuck to the tailgate.when fitting back on the car i stuck the clips back on the spoiler after i had made them a bit tighter by pushing the lugs on the clips back down with molegrips.jubly
