Hi, with the spares that come with the car is the Phase 1 grill and seats in amongst them?
I hope you only paid 1500 for this yourself????? as making any money from fellow members is not allowed!!!!

No had it from only 6 months old so paid well over that for it back in the day.
Might have been worth saying that this car has only had two owners from new then as that's a real selling point. Which then also makes mileage and service history attached to this car much more interesting points but they aren't mentioned either?

whats the spec of the engine? whats been done for 250bhp?
The engine has had the bottom end rebuilt, lightened and balanced, the head has again been reworked with porting, flowing and the head has been perm-sealed, the carb has been re-jetted and re-fuelled, jets played with, the turbo has been replaced with a larger unit, the boost is adjustable and can be increased to 1.5 bar, intercooler is now front mounted and bigger, air filter box replaced with cone filter, fuel system has been changed and uprated to ensure enough fuel reaches the carb, stainless steel exhaust.
Cam is standard as i found uprated ones too lumpy at the time when the engine was worked on.
Uprated Clutch.

OK just took a look on the e-bay to see if i am a long way off there prices and to be honest there is a load of junk for more money being advertised with no spares ect, so i do not think i am a long way off just need someone to take my baby off my hands and enjoy it.

Sorry just seen this after re-reading the thread mileage is 67K but the engine was replaced with a brand new one around 10K miles ago when a lot of the work was done to the engine but as this was not my daily runaround it has done very little miles in the last few years.

he means it would be better if you had a rolling road print out to show the 250 bhp a lot of people want to see the print out graph then they no some people on ebay selling 5s claim crazy bhp so its always better if you have a print out proves what your saying and pistonheads is a good place to sell stuff ive sold a few cars on there always sell well

Yes as is the interior seats and the engine has not got the original ph1 setup either but has a phase 2 setup and AEI.Do you know ur front bumpers ph2
Got the phase 1 bumper in the garage but would need to be repaired and refurbed to be used but come with the car, not got the ph1 interior as this was replaced many years ago.

You've been trying to sell this on here for months & clearly nobody wants it, at least not for the price you are asking. As much as it pains me to say it, your better off breaking it. Either that or sort it out & make it road worthy. Alternatively stick it on the bay & get what you can for it & suck it up.

Stick to your guns John. There are far too many cars getting broken- and there appears to be little wrong with it!. Looks like a genuine car to me just needs making a bit prettier i.e bumpers painting etc
What about some different marketing? few more pics of it on a sunny day (if one comes along). Pictures of the sills and the floors to show people its solid underneath? That's what I would want to see.

Other thing is does painting the bumpers and the car make it more desirable, i could go out spend 500 plus on a paint job but would it make it more wanted then letting someone buy it for 500 pounds less and getting it painted a colour they want, i am not sure i sort of thought about getting it painted then thought i would have to add that cost to the car, would it sell for more if painted?I don't agree with this either

I don't agree with breaking 5's either, but, as it stands,you havn't been able to sell it as it is have you. & you clearly want to sell it as the thread pops up every month. If your willing to spend some time & money on it to sell it then well, thats another story,its a no brainer imo. If you get the painwork done & put an MOT on it you have a much better chance of selling it & for alot more than 1500. A clean, bigpower, roadworthy Mot'd 5 will sell much quicker than one thats needs paint & isn't actually roadworthy ie no MOT. Speculate to accumulate.
OK just thought a car with spares at 1500 pounds may have been in more peoples budget then a car with an mot and a paint job which will no doubt add 500 plus pounds to the cost if not more, ill enquire about the paint this week and look to slap an mot on thew car.
If someone is serious about the car but wants it painted then perhaps let me know by pm as we could take colour if you did not want it the same?
I think the price your asking mate is bang on for the condition. If I had the cash there'd be no hesitation. I think most are put of by the car losing some of It's phase 1 parts. If your going to the expence of spraying the bumpers I would suggest fixing the original front bumper and getting that one sprayed.
Always looking out for a phase 1 but your pictures do this car no favours! The front grill looks awful, simple thing like maybe talking to mike 16v and getting hold of a ph1 grill and bumper straight away will vastly improve it's sellability! Another thing looks like you are a smoker there is ash all over the drivers seat with what looks like burns also in them, which is not really a problem as I would be hunting high and low for a set of phase1 seats the ashtray is open and looks very ashy! Being a non smoker those things alone really put me off! Plus the MOT is a no brainer you say it is easy enough well that depends if you have a 'dodgy' mate that does em! Most 5's of this age unless well looked after need a few quid spent on em for MOT usually track rod ends brake performance usually rear! And rot!
So even though I am on the look out for a ph1 yours does not tick all the boxes for me as it would need a few hard to get hold of parts to make it a good ph1 if I was you and this is only a suggestion source the ph1 needed to make it look like the right car sort the paint out try and return engine closer to standard this would all cost you a few quid but you have to speculate to accumulate!!!

No one intrested this is give away price when you add in the ton of spare parts and what your getting.
I think its a great price considering what your getting... i would take it if i had the money! Try spray up the bumper a bit,, make it look more white... and change the grill back to standard,, should look more tidy then... but the car looks pretty straight.
