    aquamist reliability

    just a quick one,

has anyone had any issues with aquamist pumps and relays? twice now my engine has popped, i think both times due to det when the system has failed!

i'm on my 3rd relay and had to rebuild the pump last night as the pressure was almost non existant!

A few years back I had a problem with my previous aquamist setup (not the one I just sold that worked perfectly fine and I only ran meth mix through it my old old kit is in dorset and on a cossie - just wanted to clear that up) in that the Pump did what yours has done cleaned it up and didn't last much longer ended up buying another pump. Are you using meth mix of just water??

Never had a relay problem though, use an ERL relay on my rad fan switch

    Re: aquamist reliability

mine is the 'race pump', absolute pig to take apart!

mine was getting hot yesterday but think that was due to it being low pressure, with hardly any flow through

was running about 30% meth to 70% evian, but have a 7l tank so have never used it up, so the meth has probably evaporated out years ago

    Re: aquamist reliability

I bought mine 2nd hand of a dude with a gt4 he said had a display with charge temps on his laptop and said he never noticed a difference.........that's because it didn't work when it came on boost!. I got on there forum and told them about it not working and one of the members sent me the PCB that goes in the pump. I think it was all just plug and play (it was so long ago) worked after though so I sold it

    Re: aquamist reliability

Dr Glen T used a gtt fuel pump set up with a test button under the bonnet to check each day... btw... evien is a mineral water so is not good for any thing that goes through small pipes............distilled is the best.......

I think I sent it back to them around the time I posted this, iirc he tested flow and it was ok after I flexed seals, so I don't think they rebuilt it
