Well after paying for a track pass and not getting on track at ND I feel I should do the same again for this event LOL

Not 100% if I will run the track beast as I have BIG fears over the rear diffs ability to deal with the new found powerplant and giving it abuse off the line is not going to help!

Prob come along either way as its a great day out, could always use the runs for mapping

Hahaha yeah I no the feeling, exactly what happend to me at last years POD day, had a ticket but didn't run as my car decided to throw a fit on the way

What sort of diff you running?
as your into the kit cars now, come and have a look at my dads as long as he brings it.. (that's got a YB turbo, 560bhp and weighs about 500kgs) very scary stuff...

Its running live rear axel but not the stronger atlas item cant remember what its from tbh

1st kit car type thing I have worked on tbh (well you could argue the VX220 was a posh kit car lol) and not sure why I never played about with them before.

In fact the year before at ND I only did a few laps in big steves as the car was broke just like to pay into the club out my own pocket I guess

Old school turbo power (a lot of it mind) can imagine traction is the one thing missing I love anything a bit different, especially if its silly quick

Prob a sierra type 7 1/2 inch, mostly what kit cars tend to use as they are cheap and plenty around..

Good thing about kit cars is they are light so you don't need alot of power and they stick to the road like sh't to a blanket

My dad has had his dutton for most of my life tbh, used to has a lotus twin cam.. Then went silly and decided to do a full tube chassis with YB power.. Traction is good of the line tbh (1.3 60'), but it's setup for drag racing, so you'd expect it.. Only really has problems mid track, mainly due to changing gear.. Suspension unload's and upsets the car..

Went into the shop to see about spectator tickets (Noticed its free!) then also saw that there were 36 units in stock.

Does that mean only 14 peole are going on the strip?

Good day, looks like a few pb's on the boards...
    Turbo ted with 11:4 & 122mph. Before he lost 2nd & 4th
Glenn 11.06 iirc so close to a 10
Scoff running mid to low 10's best 10.2 I think before glenn broke both his shafts
Dave reed broke the external gate pipe off his manifold early on unfortunaly after just a few runs
A few other quick cars as well ranging frrom r5's with c1j's, f7p & f4r, clio turbos, scooby, evo, adam pulling. A high 12 in his s15..

Considering me going was a last minute decesion I really enjoyed the day. I think it was my first time at Pod since the last Nat Day there 6 years ago.
Great to see all the old faces and a couple I spoke to but couldn't remember who they were. (Getting old, memory goes first)

Thanks to Rob and Coops for the chat about their F7 installs and power achieved etc both cars looking and going really well.

Might actually give me the incentive to get a proper car back on the road instead of turning up in the Clio Turbo D.

Re: Frog of the Pod @ Santa Pod, Friday 1st July

Good day, really enjoyed it once I'd worked out why 1st gear wasn't working properly. Glenn had a go in my car and managed a full 2" of track, sheering the outer cv's off both driveshafts in the launch ! It snapped the shafts right off just before the cv spider. Just got back with the car, Mike phase 1 VERY kindly donated a pair of good GT shafts to the cause so I'll get the new outers on my existing shafts and be back at pod for racing on Sunday.

Glenn ran 4 (yes, 4!) 11.0 's ! It was like watching action replay ! 11.0@128, 11.0@128, 11.0@....... Just couldn't quite scrape a 10, but he's there all weekend and with the better track @ ESC he should do it I hope.

Well done to everyone else who set pb's, really good to see everyone having a good day

There was a load of PB's broke I think Andy. I did, but not by much. 10.2 @ 145 vs 10.3 @ 144 last year. Glenn improved a little bit and robbie set a PB with his new 16v f7p turbo.

I know no one cares about my car but I did a pb on road tyres of at 12.9 @ 113 on low boost. I saw Glenn's car run and that made great terminals, I'd be ****ed off with the times if I was him. I also saw Scoff's last run, and wondered why he was shifting into 4th (different box, duh!). Amazing time at 10.2 with 145mph terminal

I went up against Turbo Ted in one run and wondered why he was in my mirror, he ****ed his box, so a bit gutting. However he did run an 11.4 earlier, so contracts there.

I'm in the hotel as I post this, my bed is really comfy thanks

Had a good day some really quick cars there best car for me was the original mini what a noise it made when it came on boost, had to leave early to beat traffic and get some kip for my night shift that ive just finished.
