    Starter motor

    quick question.Which starter motor did tuners sell as the uprated type?

    if your starter sounds sluggish, i just filled my motor and solenoid with wd40 and its transformed it, spins over much much faster. theres a small hole on the motor and solenoid to get inside

    the starter is done mate.I wanted to go for the lagune type as it's a little smaller so hopefully fit unders the tubes manifold better.thats the idear any i maybe barking up the wrong tree mind

    Are these "uprated" starter motors not the very same ones that people have reported to chew up their flywheel?

    smaller/lighter is allways a good thing, the 5s starter is a big bugger. i have asked a few people for the part numbers off theres but no-one so far has been willing to expose this info

    I have heard that the "uprated" ones fail quicker ..

    you can usually get minter campus valeo starters from the scrappys for peanuts. Both my ph1 and cup car have campus starters, cost me about a tenner each.......win!!

    for the record i have now had my nice sounding uprated starter on for well over a year with no sticking problems or failures whatsoever...so not sure where all these folk are getting there information about them being a fail?....if its just word of mouth then..

    they work fine....i actually have one on my car...
